Effects of Replacing Soybean (Glycine Max) with Fermented Sickle Pod (Senna Obtusifolia) on the Productive Performance and Carcass Characteristics of Domestic Rabbits

An experiment was conducted for 56 days to determine the productive performance and carcass characteristics of domestic rabbits fed fermented Senna obtusifolia seed meal (FSOSM)-based diets. A control soybean meal-based diet and diets containing 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% FSOSM as a replacement for soybean were formulated for the study. Twenty (20) domestic growing rabbits with an initial weight range of 605.25 – 662.75 g were randomly allotted to the five dietary treatments in a Completely Randomized Block Design with four replicates of one rabbit each. The productive performance was not significantly (P < 0.05) influenced by the diets. The daily weight gain ranged from 11.11 – 12.09 g/d, total weight gain 622.16 – 677.01 g/d, daily feed intake 55.15 – 61.41 g and feed conversion ratio ranged from 4.83 – 5.02. The carcass characteristics were similarly not affected (P < 0.05) by the dietary treatments. Dressing percentage ranged from 50.05 – 59.70% and retail cuts for shoulder, rack, loin and thigh were 17.73 – 18.99, 5.20 – 6.28, 13.26 – 14.17 and 20.28 – 22.33 percent body weight. It was concluded from this study that replacement of soybean with FSOSM up to 100% had no adverse effects on the productive parameters and carcass characteristics of domestic rabbits.

School Literacy Movement: A Literature Review

This study aims to determine: (1) the context of the implementation of the school literacy movement program, (2) input on the implementation of the school literacy movement program, (3) the process of implementing the school literacy movement program, and (4) the product of the implementation of the school literacy movement program at SMA IT Baitul Jannah Bandar Lampung. The design of this study is an evaluation study using the Evaluation Model (CIPP) Context Input Process and Product. Data collection was carried out by interview, documentation, and observation techniques. The results showed that: (1) the context of the School Literacy Movement program at SMA IT Baitul Jannah Bandar Lampung was carried out in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Education number 23 of 2015 concerning ethics which is classified as increasing student knowledge, student character, and student interest in reading, (2) input of the School Literacy Movement program in program scheduling, program funding and supporting facilities and infrastructure are classified as being in accordance with needs, (3) the School Literacy Movement program process has been carried out according to the plan but there are obstacles faced, namely in the form of not optimal socialization to students, lack of student motivation, and low student interest in reading, teachers have not received training related to literacy programs, teachers’ views that School Literacy Movement interferes with class hours, and implementation time is still lacking. (4) the School Literacy Movement program product is in accordance with the objectives but there are still things that need to be improved, so the School Literacy Movement program at Baitul Jannah IT High School needs to be continued at the stage and in the following year with some improvements and some things that need to be improved.

Green Synthesis and Characterization of Silver Nanoparticles Derived from Ethanol Extract of Sappan Wood

Silver nanoparticles had been synthesized through the reduction process using an ethanol extract of sappan wood (Caesalpinia sappan L.) as a bioreductor.  The variation of the formula used is a mixture of the ethanol extract of sappan wood with a 2 mM AgNO3 solution in a volume ratio of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4. The results showed that the UV-Visible spectrophotometry confirmed that the volume ratio of 1:1 was the optimum formula with an absorbance value of 1.243 at the maximum wavelength of 446 nm. Particle size analysis using Zetasizer Nano ZS revealed that the synthetized silver nanoparticles had a particle size of 618.1 nm. The hydroxyl group (OH) had a important role in the nanoparticle formation process, according to functional group characterization using FTIR. Due to silver nanoparticles tendency  to agglomerate, the SEM image of the silver nanoparticles showed a variety of sizes and forms.

The Use of Temperature and Waste Diapers in the Demulsification Process of Crude Oil Samples

Currently, the oil wells in Indonesia are getting older, the older the oil well shows the greater the water content, which will cause the formation of a water-in-oil emulsion. The presence of emulsion that occurs in crude oil will cause a decrease in oil quality and oil production. Therefore, a demulsifier is needed to overcome these problems. Because the existing demulsifier are still very few variants and are not environmentally friendly, a new type of demulsifier that is environmentally friendly is needed. Baby diapers can be used as a new type of demulsifier because baby diapers contain Polymer Superasorbent (SAP) which can absorb 200 times water [1]. Superabsorbent Polymer has inert and hydrophilic properties with the working principle of absorbing and trapping water in the emulsion formed on crude oil. In this experiment, the author uses baby diaper waste to separate water and oil in the emulsion formed on the P#441 crude oil sample at a temperature of 26.70C, 400C, and 500C with a centrifuge with a speed of 500, 1000, and 1500. RPM in 1, 2, and 3 minutes. Demulsification process occurs faster in crude oil sample at a temperature of 500C because of high temperatures can accelerate the process demulsification. The use of baby diapers as nashi demulsifier is in its early stages and can be developed further, but it has been proven to accelerate the demulsification process in the emulsion formed by sample P#441.

The Analysis of the “Buy Now, Pay Later” Use Intention in Indonesia

The Rapid technological and informational advancements have an effect on the financial industries. One of its offerings is financial technology, sometimes known as fintech. In 2018, a number of fintech startups introduced products that enable clients to make installment payments without credit cards. This is referred to as Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL). Then, numerous technology firms, such as Traveloka, Shopee, and Gojek, embrace this approach to round out their payment alternatives. The market for BNPL in Indonesia is quite promising. Demand for BNPL is quite high, as seen by the rapid expansion of BNPL providers in Indonesia. Many companies, including Traveloka, Gojek, Shopee, and others, demonstrated a rise in BNPL product usage. Using the Technology Readiness and Acceptance Model, this study examines the Buy Now, Pay Later usage intent (TRAM). This study concludes that technology readiness, perceived usefulness, and perceived simplicity of use influence the intention to use a BNPL product, with perceived usefulness having the most direct impact on users’ intentions.

Analysis of Chloramphenicol in Shrimp Using Standard Addition Method Based on Diazotization

This research aimed to determine the concentration of chloramphenicol in shrimp using the standard addition method based on the diazotization reaction using Zn powder as a reducing agent of chloramphenicol, followed by the use of N-(1-naphthyl) ethylenediamine dihydrochloride as a coupling agent and measured at 565 nm. Based on the test, the shrimp sample was found to contain 1964.91 mg/kg of chloramphenicol and it exceeded the requirements set by the European Commission which was 0,15 mg/kg. The limit of detection (LOD) value is 0.19 mg/mL and the limit of quantitation (LOQ) value is 0.64 mg/mL. The correlation coefficient (R2) was 0.9991 for the concentration range of 0-50 ppm. The analysis of the results showed that the %recovery in shrimp analysis using this method was 87.41%-107.73% with an average of 109.38%.
