Examining Development Project Selection Difficulties in Digital Communication Companies: A Root Cause Analysis

ABC, a leading company in communications technology, is facing challenges in developing a fair and unbiased process for selecting new ventures amid an increasing number of computer program development projects. In conditions where the industry faces many projects taking place simultaneously, but the number of available developers is limited, the process of managing and evaluating projects becomes increasingly complex. This results in a decrease in the level of customer satisfaction with the products and services the company provides. In addition, the company faced problems due to the unavailability of clear and consistent project evaluation guidelines. The lack of clear and consistent guidelines resulted in less efficient resource allocation and extended the duration of project completion. This research focuses on improving the decision-making process by using root cause analysis to identify key issues and their impacts. The methods used include surveys, semi-structured interviews, and root cause analysis to explore the core problems and needs of stakeholders. The results showed four main causes of weak project management and decision-making: technical, financial, administrative and strategic planning issues. Overall, the research provided insights into how these issues affected service performance, increased operational waste, reduced quality, and resulted in stakeholder dissatisfaction.

Strategic Multi-Factor Root Cause Analysis for Lead Time Optimization in Jewellery Manufacturing

One of the strengths that company need to have been the ability to release new models faster than competitors. It will give the opportunity for the company to capture the market share. However, company need to have a quick mass producing for the new models after prototype released to the market. Slow mass producing will open the window for the competitor to imitate the prototype and give the chance for them to capture all the markets if they have quicker mass-producing time. This issue happens in jewellery companies in Indonesia, one of the companies is XYZ Company. Prototype models from XYZ company are widely imitated by competitors who have faster production time. To overcome this issue, company need to analyse the root cause of slow mass production process in the company. Based on this analysis, recommendations can be given to the company and applied to accelerate the production process so the company will not lose the market anymore. The root cause analysis was conducted by using a fishbone diagram with a case study in XYZ company. Through the analysis, it can be seen that the root cause of the slow production time is due to lack of human resources thar involved in production. Based on this finding, series of measures such as hiring additional employees and implementing the overtime hours for the employee can be applied to speed up the production time and even increase the capacity.

Process Improvement in PT. Docil Berkah Abadi Using Business Process Improvement (BPI) Framework

PT. Docil Berkah Abadi is a retailer that offers motorcycle accessories, primarily windshields, via e-commerce, resellers, distributors, and an offline store. Additionally, subsidiary companies sell additional varieties of accessories. Mission of this organization is to dominate the market for motorcycle accessories in Indonesia and to innovate our products via subsidiary companies. PT. Docil Berkah Abadi has serious problems in its business process because the previously running business processes are not effective and result in too large fixed costs incurred by PT.Docil berkah Abadi This is the time from the beginning of the order acceptance until the goods are sold too long. The number of employees who have been discharged does not correspond to the salary costs already incurred by PT. Docil Berkah Abadi This is a very expensive rental because you have to store a lot of stock.

The aim of this study is to improve business processes by understanding the roots of the problem with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and improve the business process with Business Process Improvement. (BPI). The author uses five whys on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) analysis and performs identification on business early processes, and improves business by streamlining with Bureaucracy Elimination and Upgrading.

This study was conducted using qualitative methods. The researchers conducted in-depth interviews with several divisions of the company to gain insight into the business processes of the enterprise. The results of the interviews showed that the business processes used by the company are still less accurate. Using interview insights, the researchers built a new process business using flowchart.
