The Role of Product Innovation on Purchasing Decisions with Iconic Ethnical Products as a Mediating Variable among Pamekasan Batik Artisans

This study aims to examine the role of product innovation in influencing purchasing decisions with iconic ethnical product as a mediating variable among consumers of Pamekasan batik. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to Pamekasan batik consumers. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that product innovation has a significant positive effect on iconic ethnical product, but does not directly influence purchasing decisions. In contrast, iconic ethnical product has a significant positive effect on purchasing decisions and plays a mediating role in the relationship between product innovation and purchasing decisions. These findings suggest that product innovation contributes to purchasing decisions only when it strengthens the iconic and ethnical characteristics of the product, such as cultural symbolism, distinctive motifs, and local identity. The study highlights that consumers of Pamekasan batik place greater emphasis on symbolic value and cultural meaning rather than product novelty alone. The results support Consumer Culture Theory, emphasizing that purchasing decisions for cultural products are shaped by culturally constructed meanings. Practically, this study implies that Pamekasan batik artisans should orient product innovation strategies toward reinforcing iconic ethnical values to enhance consumer purchasing decisions.

The Influence of Product Innovation and Customer Satisfaction Level on Repurchase Intention: A Study on the Markikas Kitchen Catering Culinary Business in Makassar City

This study aims to determine the effect of product innovation on repurchase intention mediated by customer satisfaction at Catering Markikas Kitchen. The study uses a descriptive quantitative method (Path Analysis) and uses Smart-PLS as a test tool. In the research sample through probability sampling techniques, simple random sampling of a population of 298 and a sample of 100 respondents who are classified as Catering Markikas Kitchen customers. The results of the direct effect analysis show that product innovation has a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention and customer satisfaction. In addition, the results of the indirect effect analysis show that product innovation has a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention through customer satisfaction. Suggestions that can be given to Catering Markikas Kitchen business owners are to continue to innovate but still maintain the taste and quality of the product. However, other factors must be considered to continue to support customer satisfaction and create repurchase intention.

The Impact of Biotechnology Product Innovation and Corporate Strategy in Medium-Scale Seaweed Industry Companies on the Company Business Growth (Case Study: Ocean Fresh CV)

A product innovation approach that can have a positive impact on both the environment and consumers is biotechnology. Seaweed, a material obtained from the sea, offers a lot of potential. Future prospects for several industries include the use of seaweed product innovation employing a biotechnology method. This research is based on business issues and how to maximize existing potential. This research aims to study the performance of the corporate strategy and the development of product innovation in a biotechnology-based company, namely Ocean Fresh CV. Data collection was carried out by means of semi-structured interviews with the directors of the company and analyzed by evaluating internal factors and discussing using the Balanced Scorecard approach. This study shows that the Company’s Strategy and Product Innovation carried out at Ocean Fresh CV have positively impacted business growth so far. The results of this analysis will be made in the form of a Matrix Scenario Planning to be able to provide business solutions that can be implemented by companies for future business growth.
