Effect of Mother Knowledge and Household Food Security on Anemia of Pregnant Women (Study in North Buton Regency)

Background: Anemia in pregnancy can cause disruption of pregnancy continuity, disruption of the birth process, disorders during the puerperium, and disturbances to the fetus. World data shows the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women is 41.8% with a maternal mortality rate due to anemia of 303,000 people or around 216/100,000 live births. This study aims to analyze the determinants of anemia in pregnant women in North Buton Regency.

Method: This study used a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all pregnant women aged <21 years who came to check their pregnancies at all Health Centers in North Buton Regency in January 2023 as many as 97 people with a total sample of 77 people who were taken using the proportional sampling technique.

Results: The research data was analyzed using using the chi-square test. The results showed body mass index (p-value = 0.002), food consumption level (p-value = 0.023), food security (p-value = 0.002), adherence to consumption of Fe tablets (p-value = 0.002), knowledge (p-value = 0.827), income (p-value = 0.015).

Conclusion: It can be concluded that body mass index, level of food consumption, food security, consumption of Fe tablets, and income are related to the incidence of anemia in pregnant women, while knowledge is not related to the incidence of anemia in pregnant women.

Increasing Farmers’ Income with Implementation Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in Dragon Fruit Cultivation Farming Business

This study aims to evaluation the technical differences between Dragon Fruit cultivation before and after application Good Agricultural Practices in Talok Village, Dlanggu District, Mojokerto Regency and the increase in farm income after implementation Good Agricultural Practices. Data analysis in this study used descriptive qualitative analysis, namely obtaining accurate data and a clear picture of farmers. Based on the research results, it can be concluded as follows a pplication of cultivation techniques Good Agricultural Practices give better results that is with76.85% less investment on deployment Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) was able to sell 77.78% more dragon fruit and a higher income level of 140.32% with a difference in income of Rp. 480,745,000 per 7 Ha or IDR 68,677,857 per hectare compared to the conventional period.

Factors Related To Public Behavior towards Patients with Mental Disorders in Buton Utara District

Background: People with mental disorders often get greater stigma and discrimination from the surrounding community than individuals who suffer from other medical illnesses. This treatment is due to ignorance or misunderstanding of family or community members regarding mental disorders. This study aims to determine the determinants of community behavior towards people with mental disorders.

Method: This type of research is an observational analytic using a cross-sectional design which was carried out in North Buton Regency in October 2022 involving 86 respondents who were selected randomly.

Results: The results showed that the behavior of the majority was good as many as 47 respondents (54.7%), followed by poor behavior as many as 39 respondents (45.3%). Community behavior towards people with mental disorders in North Buton Regency is related to income (p-value 0.043), knowledge (p-value 0.000), attitude (p-value 0.014) and is not related to education level (p-value 0.489). Knowledge is the factor most related to people’s behavior towards people with mental disorders in North Buton Regency.

Conclusion: The conclusion of the study is that people’s behavior towards people with mental disorders is related to good knowledge, good attitudes, and income.
