A System Dynamics Model for Rooftop Solar PV System Development in Indonesia

Despite of Indonesia’s vast solar energy potential according to the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia’s total installed capacity of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) is very far from Indonesia’s target of 3.6 GW in 2025. Indonesia once applied net metering scheme for rooftop solar PV policy and was expected to be able to boost rooftop solar PV growth. A system dynamics approach is used in the research to develop an assessment model to evaluate the policies’ impact on residential rooftop solar PV system growth. A Causal Loop Diagram was established then transformed into Stock and Flow Diagram (SFD) using software Vensim PLE 10.1.3, which was used to simulate several policies’ scenarios related to residential rooftop solar PV adoption and CO2 emissions reduction. Ten scenarios were simulated in this study involving three groups of intervention: initial net metering tariff, reduction on initial solar PV cost, upper limit of ROI, and combination of initial net metering tariff and initial solar PV cost reduction. The simulations revealed that combination of increasing net metering tariff to 80% & initial cost reduction 30% has the highest potential solar PV installations, the highest CO2 emissions reduction, and the lowest accumulation cost of net metering in 2030. This study can be used as reference by the policy makers in Indonesia to formulate the optimum policy to boost rooftop solar PV growth as the simulations shows that residential rooftop solar PV with the right intervention can meet the government’s target of rooftop solar PV in 2030.

The Potential of Daruju Leaf Extract (Acanthus Ilicifolius) as a Bioreductor in the Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles and Antibacterial Activity Test

Silver nanoparticles had been synthesized through the bioreduction process using daruju (Acanthus ilicifolius) leaf extract as a bioreductant. The variation of the formula used is a mixture of daruju leaf extract with a 0.01 M AgNO3 solution with volume ratios of 2:1, 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3. The research results show that UV-Visible spectrophotometry confirmed that a volume ratio of 1:1 is the optimum formula with an absorption value of 2.346 at the maximum wavelength 440 nm. Synthesis of silver nanoparticles with daruju leaf extract has a strong inhibition zone about 10.42 mm. Proving that the synthesis of silver nanoparticles with extract daruju leaf can be used as an antibacterial agent against E.coli bacteria.

Estimation of some Electrolytes in Kidney Disease Patients

Present case-control study explored the associations between the role of urea and creatinine levels in kidney patients. Sixty patients with chronic Kidney disease participated in this study; their age ranged from 28-60 years during the period from March 2019 until August 2019 at the National Hematological Center/ Al-Mustansiryah University. They were compared with 30 subjects as control group. A sample of 60 Iraqi patients were divided into two groups, the first over 50 years old were 42 samples, while the second group for patients under the age of 50 years recorded 18 samples, and the samples of healthy people recorded only 30 samples.Current study was designed to estimate the status of renal function in the blood and electrolytes in the serum were measured for all patients.

Mood Changes in Premenstrual Syndrome seen from Hormonal Changes in the Pituitary Gland

Introduction: The pituitary gland plays a role in the production of the hormones FSH and LH, which influence development follicles And process ovulation. In addition, the pituitary gland indirectly plays a role in regulating the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter role in arrange atmosphere heart. This research aims to find out about the role of the pituitary gland in mood changes during the premenstrual period.

Methodology: This research uses a literature study method by examining existing data.

Results: Research results show that change atmosphere liver in the premenstrual phase can caused by change hormonal, like decline production serotonin consequence decreasing rate hormone estrogen and progesterone, which influence mood and emotions.

Discussion: The pituitary gland has a role in influencing the ovulation process in the premenstrual phase and also regulates serotonin production which causes an imbalance in the hormones produced by the ovaries, namely estrogen and progesterone, resulting in mood swings.

Implementation of ESG as a Strategy for Business Sustainability in a Public-Listed Tobacco Company in Indonesia

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) has been introduced to the business communities for the past two decades. It has grown in importance as a framework for measuring a company’s sustainability and as a guide for investment decision-making. In Indonesia, the publicly listed companies at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) have been required to implement and report ESG practices since 2021 through a regulation issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in 2017. Among those is a tobacco company operating in Indonesia, PT HM Sampoerna Tbk. (Sampoerna/The Company/IDX: HMSP) that has been an affiliate of an international tobacco company, Philip Morris International (PMI), since 2005. The tobacco industry’s ESG implementation is particularly interesting due to the adverse externalities generated by its products, which is stated by WHO as one of the biggest issues for public health. This research focuses on analyzing the company’s ESG initiatives and creating improvement strategies in the context of a company operating in the tobacco industry with the objective of maximizing the role of ESG implementation to ensure business sustainability.
