Increasing Tourism Image through the Tourism Marketing Development Program Implementation in Bandung City

This study describes the implementation of a marketing development program by the Culture and Tourism Office of Bandung City to increase the tourism destination image, which impacts the increasing number of tourist visits and local revenue. However, this program is different from what was expected. The research employs a qualitative approach and data collection methods using observation, interviews, documents, and literature studies. The research uses data analysis techniques with three stages: data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion and verification. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the tourism marketing development program by the Culture and Tourism Office of Bandung has not been run optimally in terms of the program’s implementation elements and environmental factors. From the standpoint of the program overview, the budget and infrastructure facilities are still inadequate. From the implementation aspect, the process of implementation lacks employees, and cooperation with tourism partners has not gone well. Moreover, on the environmental part, many social issues still occur in the surrounding community that affects the implementation of the program.

Iron Status in Adolescents with Eating Disorder: A Systematic Review

Introduction: Eating disorders are major mental disorders that affect all aspects of life, including quality of life at home or workplace, personal functions, and social life. Malnutrition, particularly iron deficiency, can result from a lack of food intake caused by eating disorders.

Aim: This study aimed to determine the impact of eating disorders in adolescents on hematological alterations and iron serum indexes.

Method: The study was conducted by doing online database searches systematically using relevant search terms and appropriate criteria. Sources of literature that were traced were those published until 2022. The online searches were conducted on the following databases: MEDLINE, PubMed, PsycINFO, ScienceDirect, Scielo, and DynaMed Plus.

Results: Searching by keyword yielded 55 titles and abstracts. When they were screened, a total of 41 publications were saved for further analysis. However, only 8 publications met the inclusion criteria and were continued for review (two studies that used a cross-sectional design, one case-control study, and five cohort studies).

Conclusion: Iron deficiency and anemia were uncommon in young women who had eating disorders and weight loss. However, there was a rise in serum ferritin and serum hepcidin, as well as a decrease in transferrin, based on evaluations using biomarkers that were more sensitive for the detection of adolescent anorexia nervosa. In participants who gained weight after receiving nutritional therapy, transferrin levels increased whereas ferritin and hepcidin levels declined (rapid depletion).

Improving Hemoglobin Level with Increasing Copper, Cobalamin, and Iron Intake of Pregnant Women

Over the past five years, there has been a dramatic increase in anemia problems among pregnant women in Indonesia. Almost half (48.9%) of pregnant women in Indonesia have anemia. Further research is needed to explore the role of additional nutritional deficiencies that cause anemia in Indonesia, apart from iron deficiency. The aim of this research was to determine the characteristics and nutrient intakes affecting pregnant women’s hemoglobin levels. A cross-sectional study was carried out from May to October 2019 on 60 pregnant women at Public Health Center Kebon Jeruk, Jakarta. The independent variables were pregnant women’s characteristics, intake of energy, protein, folate, vitamin B6, B12 (cobalamin), C, E, iron, copper, and calcium. The dependent variable was hemoglobin level. Multiple regression using dummy variables was used for multivariate analysis. The average age is 28.3+5.5 years old, with no mothers being of risky age. The average hemoglobin (Hb) level is 11.5+1.4 g/dL. The majority of women are in their third trimester (42%). The variables that significantly affect hemoglobin levels are the intake of iron, vitamin B12, and copper. Increasing the intake of iron, vitamin B12, and copper effectively improves hemoglobin levels among pregnant women. It is recommended to provide iron tablets in multi-nutrient form, and further research is needed for its effectiveness.

Implementation Household Solid Waste Management (HSWM) During The COVID-19 Pandemic

The existence of garbage that grows every day is very concerning. In addition, environmental impacts also vary, such as environmental pollution and the effect of waste on health. Second, the need for an appropriate and systematic waste management system can reduce the generation of existing debris. Therefore, management reduces the amount of waste processed for final disposal. The research design used in this study is descriptive qualitative to explore and describe the social situation in waste management. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and document reviews. In this study, data triangulation from sources and techniques was carried out. The data analysis is carried out by collecting data obtained from informants, making transcripts of interviews, creating matrices, and conducting interpretations. The results of this study found that waste management in the housing and collection process still does not meet existing regulations, such as shelters and Temporary Disposal Sites (TPS) that have not met the requirements, then in the final disposal process at the Bantargebang landfill there is still minimal waste management so that it still uses an open dumping system.
