The Use of the Podomoro Technique in Improving the Results of Listening and Speaking Class Evaluation

The suitability of using teaching tools or materials in teaching is essential to achieve what students want and the learning objectives. Not only are the right and appropriate teaching tools or materials needed, but teaching and learning methods that are appropriate to what students need are also needed. Students can use the Podomoro technique to focus more on studying the materials. Not only that, but efficiency in the use of time can also help students to be more focused on studying what is being studied. This research is quantitative. The design is a one-group pretest-posttest. The Pretest and Posttest scores were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, which was implemented using a statistical application called SPSS. There are different results from the three different classes for the Listening and Speaking classes, which show that the Podomoro technique helps learning outcomes. Statistically significant improvement was observed in two classes (p = 0.005 and p = 0.016), but not in the third (p = 0.388).

Evaluation of Complete Systematic Land Registration Policy in Gorontalo City

This study aims to evaluate the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) policy in Gorontalo City using six main dimensions of policy evaluation: effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, responsiveness, and accuracy. The study adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders, field observations, and a review of policy documents and PTSL implementation reports. The data analysis technique used was the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the PTSL policy has achieved a high level of effectiveness, with 87.4% of the 67,229 land parcels already certified. The implementation cost is considered efficient, averaging IDR 250,000 per certificate, with a completion time of one to two months. The program is also considered adequate in terms of regional coverage and accessibility, although challenges remain in documenting inherited land and reaching marginalized communities. In terms of equity, the implementation of PTSL has yet to show affirmative attention toward vulnerable groups such as the poor and female-headed households, although geographic distribution has been relatively even. The responsiveness of the implementation is fairly good, with quick handling of complaints and the existence of direct reporting mechanisms at the sub-district level. The policy is also considered accurate as it aligns with both national and local regulations and can adapt to the cultural values of the community, such as respect for burial land and the involvement of traditional leaders. The participation of local stakeholders significantly supports the successful implementation of this program.

Analysis of Evaluation of Implementation of Standard Precautions in Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections at the Kendari City Regional General Hospital in 2024

HAIs infections are infections that occur in patients during treatment in hospitals and other health care facilities where when they enter there is no infection and is not in the incubation period. Standard precautions in preventing infection are very important to apply in hospitals, considering that staff contact with patients’ bodies increases exposure from patients to staff or vice versa. The research was conducted to evaluate the implementation of standard precautions in preventing and controlling HAIs infections in Kendari City Regional Public Houses in 2024. The research was conducted in the period from April to May 2024. All data that was collected was analyzed using a content analysis approach, namely comparing the research results with existing theories and a literature review. The research results show that hand hygiene has not been fully implemented by nurses in accordance with the 5 moments and 6 steps of hand washing. The use of PPE has been fully implemented by nurses, especially in the use of masks and gloves. Coughing and sneezing etiquette has not been fully implemented by nurses because nurses have not thrown tissues into infectious waste bins.  Safe injection practices have not been fully implemented by all officers because there are still those who carry out recapping.

Developing Models for Measuring and Evaluating Success in Vocational and Professional Education and Training. An Empirical Study

This study aimed to evaluate the performance of vocational high schools by developing and applying a comprehensive assessment instrument. The focus was on the actual processes occurring within these institutions, rather than solely relying on document-based evaluations. By analyzing factors affecting school performance, constructing a valid instrument, and conducting a thorough evaluation, the study found that the investigated vocational high schools demonstrated satisfactory performance in general management and academic management. Most of the evaluations of education, training and performance carried out in vocational high schools focus on documents or passive data, rather than on the processes taking place in the secondary schools themselves. Recognizing the need to study precisely these processes, this study focuses on the performance evaluation of secondary schools. The study begins with the identification of constructs and the development of instruments to assess the performance of vocational high schools. Based on the problems found in the field, before conducting the evaluation, the researcher must first develop the evaluation tool through three stages of development. The first one is to analyze the concepts related to evaluation by examining the factors affecting the performance of vocational high schools. In the second, instrument development and instrument analysis (content validation of selected criteria) are conducted with the help of experts. The third one, entailed a rigorous evaluation of the effectiveness of vocational secondary schools. Based on the evaluation findings, the investigated vocational high schools demonstrated commendable performance in both general management and academic management.

Evaluation of Prevention of Patients at Risk of Falls in Nurses in Inpatient Department: A Qualitative Case Study

Patient safety is an essential component of quality health services. However, patient care still has shortcomings, especially in patient safety incidents such as patients being injured due to falls. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of prevention for patients at risk of falling in nurses in the inpatient department in a hospital setting. This qualitative research with a case study approach was conducted from February to April 2024 in a government hospital in Lampung, Indonesia. A total of 20 informants consisting of 10 implementing nurses as the primary informants, one head of nursing, one secretary of the Committee for Improving Quality and Patient Safety, five heads of inpatient rooms, and three patients at risk of falling as supporting informants were recruited purposively. In-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions, and observations were conducted for data collection. Thematic analysis was used for data analysis. The implementation of prevention of patients at risk of falling in nurses in the inpatient department has been employed in the form of providing facilities, facilities, and completeness of the assessment form for patients at risk of falling, and the existence of standard operational procedures on prevention of patients at risk of falling. However, some of the available facilities are damaged and must be repaired. In addition, some nurses still need to learn how to conduct a fall risk assessment. It is recommended that the director and hospital management immediately improve facilities to support the implementation of fall risk prevention and that there be regular training for all nurses related to filling out fall risk assessments in the hospital.

Perspectives of Teaching and Evaluation in Mathematics

Mathematics as a subject is quite unique in its processes and teaching in that it requires the least amount of memorization. Aside from the numbers and the functions of the operators themselves, not much needs to be memorized to do mathematics. This study is a review on all the different approaches of teaching the subject given by some famous educationists such as Bruner, Piaget, Vygotsky and Dewey in the past. Furthermore, various assessment methods for the subject have been discussed.

Coaching Effectiveness in Ideation of PLN LDP Level 3

This study evaluates the effectiveness of coaching in the Ideation of Leadership Development Program (LDP) Level 3 at PT. PLN (Persero), focusing on Coach-Client Relationship theories (Diller et al., 2022) and the ADKAR model by Hiatt (2006). It investigates the influence of coach-coachee dynamics, including Working Alliance – Task and Goal, Perceived Empathy, Perceived Need Supportive Behavior, and Closeness, on the success of the coaching process. Additionally, the research assesses the ADKAR model’s components (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement) and Team Effectiveness based on Process Criteria (Effort-Related, Strategy-Related, and Knowledge & Skill-Related) in group project facilitation. Utilizing a quantitative approach, online questionnaires were distributed to 19 individuals who met the necessary criteria, including being participants in two coaching sessions of Ideation 3 Batch 5 and holding positions as potential leaders three tiers beneath the board of directors, consisting of Managers in Service Units, Vice Presidents in subsidiaries, and Assistant Vice Presidents. The responses then would be analyzed via IBM SPSS 27.0. Results indicate significant correlations between Coach-Client Relationship, ADKAR model, and Team Effectiveness, enhancing the understanding of coaching in personnel development. This finding highlights the necessity of a well-aligned coaching process to foster effective individual change readiness. Moreover, the finding also reveals that the coaching process extends beyond individual development and has a significant influence on team collaboration and effectiveness. A well-aligned coaching process can more effectively prepare individuals for the transitions and developments required in leadership roles and equip them to contribute positively to team environments. While this study contributes to a better understanding of coaching as a method for people development, there are some limitations concerning the sample and limited time of the study. Future research with a larger and varied sample, across-case data collection, and various additional data is needed. Testing with before-after questionnaires, forum group discussions, and a mixed-method approach would be particularly interesting, including diverse leadership levels and genders.

Assessment of Quipper as Learning Management System of Saint Paul University Surigao

A school learning management system (LMS) is extremely important in the current educational landscape since it transforms how educational institutions administer and deliver their courses. LMS gives educators a strong platform to produce, organize, and distribute instructional content while enabling students to access resources, participate in interactive learning activities, and collaborate with peers by seamlessly integrating technology into the learning process. This study was conducted to assess the level of utilization, level of satisfaction, and level of effectiveness with Quipper as an LMS in Saint Paul University Surigao (SPUS), Surigao City, Philippines. The research design was quantitative, and researchers used a survey questionnaire to gather data from the college faculty of SPUS during the academic year 2022-2023. To ensure reliable results, 33 college teachers were purposefully and conveniently chosen as respondents. The data were analyzed using various parametric and non-parametric statistical tools considering the normality of the data. The study revealed that variables such as sex, age, department, highest educational attainment, and years of teaching experience did not significantly impact Quipper’s utilization and satisfaction among teachers. The profile of college faculty members also did not significantly affect Quipper’s effectiveness as a learning management system. However, the department variable significantly influenced Quipper’s performance, with frequent utilization leading to higher satisfaction and effectiveness. Overall, Quipper was widely used, effective, and met the needs of the college faculty at SPUS. The study suggested room for improvement, and the administration could establish clear implementation goals, offer incentives to consistent users, provide proper training and guidance, and encourage teachers to explore more features to better support students’ learning.

Examining Factors Affecting Curriculum Implementation in Achieving High Academic Performance in Malawi – A Case Study of Kadzakalowa Community Day Secondary School (Ntcheu)

This study examines the factors affecting curriculum implementation in achieving high academic performance in Malawi, with a specific focus on Kadzakalowa Community Day Secondary School in Ntcheu. The study employs a qualitative research design, using interviews and observations to collect data from teachers, students, and school administrators. The study aims to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing the curriculum, explore the strategies that teachers and school administrators employ to ensure successful curriculum implementation, and determine the impact of curriculum implementation on student academic performance. The findings provided an insights into the factors that contribute to successful curriculum implementation in Malawi and offer recommendations for improving curriculum implementation in the country. the study review also that thus factors, Lack of resources, Lack of qualified teachers, Poor students motivations, Lack of school fees, Poor curriculum implementation, Poor motivation of teachers, Poor administrative leadership and Long distance were factors affecting curriculum implementation in achieving high academic performance in Malawi at Kadzakalowa Community Day Secondary School in Ntcheu.

A Meta-Analysis of Assessment on Educational Institutions

This analysis on the educational institutions’ assessment and the impacts of class-based-together evaluation with respect to learning and teaching. In this analysis, 13 articles were included from different aspects related to educational institutions.
