The Efforts of Arab and Muslim Scientists in Pharmacy, Practically and Theoretically – Treating Poisons as an Example

Pharmacy is considered a science and a profession in all human civilizations. Toxic substances are considered health problems that many people face and require prevention and treatment. Arabs and Muslims, in general, have shown interest in pharmacy, and specifically in toxins, both practically and theoretically. This is the focus of this research, which aims to introduce the science of pharmacy, highlight the efforts of Arabs and Muslims in it, especially in combating toxins through prevention, treatment, classification, and definition. The research also aims to introduce some of the works they have written in this field and assess their usefulness, using a descriptive-analytical approach and a historical approach to trace the significant contributions of Arabs and Muslims in pharmacy and toxins over time. The research, with reference to specialized sources in each field, concludes with several key findings, including the significant contribution of Islamic civilization to pharmacy and toxins, benefiting many other nations from these efforts.

A Review on Intricate Scheme of Therapeutic Approaches Involved in Control and Prevention of Episodic Migraine

Migraine is a prevalent headache ailment while Episodic migraine (EM) is a paroxysmal disorder in which attacks occur at random, frequently in clusters lasting several days or weeks. The World Health Organization (WHO) currently ranks migraine as the 19th cause of years spent with a disability. The diagnosis of EM is based on clinical history and the exclusion of other headache disorders because there are no biological markers for migraine. Preventive migraine therapy is beneficial in individuals who have frequent migraine episodes, hindered daily activities, failure of acute pain management, debilitating aura, and limits in the use of acute treatment. Its goal is to reduce headache frequency and severity, enhance responsiveness to acute migraine therapy, and improve quality of patient’s life.

The Problem of Drug Addiction in Vietnam – Implication for the Role of Social Support Workers

In Vietnam, addiction treatment has made significant progress in recent years, with a variety of addiction treatment models that are applied based on evidence and effective practices around the world. However, according to a report of the Drug Prevention and Control Agency, Ministry of Public Security, the problem of drug addiction is still quite complicated. Drug addicts are being rejuvenated and addictive substances are also very diverse. Drug addicts today face many problems that require comprehensive medical, psychological, and social support interventions to change awareness and behavior to reduce the harmful effects of drug addiction and reduce illegal drug use. Based on the above situation, this article provides an overview of the problem of drug addiction in Vietnam and discusses the general roles of social support workers in assisting drug addicts to cope with their complex problems.
