Design and Application of Augmented Reality in Science Education to Develop Students’ Critical Thinking Skills

The goal of this project is to create instructional materials based on augmented reality (AR) that will enhance students’ critical thinking abilities. There were 25 pupils enrolled in the public junior high school where the study was done. The ADDIE approach is being used in this development research study. The resulting product is AR-based media equipped with learning devices consisting of a Learning Implementation Plan, Student Worksheets, test instruments. Data collection was carried out using validation sheets, learning implementation sheets, student activity sheets, critical thinking tests and student response questionnaires. The percentage of each score attained was calculated in order to analyse the data. The findings indicated that the student worksheet’s validity scored 85.3 in the very valid category, the learning implementation plan’s validity scored 87.3 in the same area, and the learning outcome test’s average validity score was 90 very valid. With an average of 93.6%, learning implementation indicated very good outcomes; student activities in learning showed very good results with an average of 94.3%; and 88% of student responses fell into the very good category. The critical thinking test’s findings indicated that the critical thinking indicators of interpretation, analysis, and explanation had the biggest increases, and the conclusion indicator saw the lowest. The study’s conclusion is that teachers can use the augmented reality-based learning tool to teach the Life Organization System’s content since it is valid, practical, and effective.

Validity and Practicality of Learning Tool for Independent Campus Learning (ICL) Study Program Diploma 3 (D3) Mechanical Engineering Bali State Polytechnic (BSP)

The Independent Campus Learning (ICL) Policy is one of the policy studies that the government is currently promoting to be implemented in universities. Implementing this policy in educational programs, Study Program (SP) readiness is very much needed. This readiness is demonstrated by having appropriate learning tools that are in line with the ICL curriculum. Following up on this policy, SP D3 Mechanical Engineering BSP developed learning tools oriented to the ILC curriculum.  This research aims to determine the level of validity and practicality of learning tools in the form of Semester Learning Plans (SLP), and ICL PS D3 Mechanical Engineering oriented textbooks. The research uses a research and development approach with the Borg & Gall model modified into three development stages, namely: define, design, and develop. The validity test results show that the validity level of the SLP and the ICL SP D3 Mechanical Engineering oriented textbook reached 84.9% and 82.7%, both of which were categorized as valid. The practicality level reached 84.9% and 82.7%, both categorized as practical, with several minor revisions. The implication is that the prototype after carrying out minor revisions can be used as a learning tool and can be continued to the next development stage, namely effectiveness testing.

The Feasibility and Practicality of Learning Multimedia Based on Whiteboard Animation of Momentum and Impulse towards First Grade of Senior High School Student Learning Motivation

Physics is one of highly difficult material study, so student tend to have low study motivation. This research aims to enhance study motivation also describe the feasibility and practicality of using Whiteboard Animation to first grade of senior high school student towards impulse and momentum. Method of this study is Research and Development (R&D) with 4D models (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). This research was conducted untill the test of feasibility and practicality of using Whiteboard Animation towards student learning motivation. The result of this study shows that multimedia based on Whiteboard Animation of impulse and momentum material is stated very feasible to use, which is shown an average of 87% (very feasible) by material expert and 84% (very feasible) by media expert. The developed multimedia was attained high response of students on field testing, which is shown an average of 89% (very practical). The result of practicality test based on student response also stated that the developed multimedia is very interesting and potential to enhance the student learning enterest. Thus, multimedia based on Whiteboard Animation of impuls and momentum material is very feasible and practical to enhance student learning motivation.
