The Study of Inflation Rate and Relative Impact on the Indian Economy during Covid-19 Pandemic

COVID-19 has affected the entire world. India, like other countries have adopted the safest way of lockdown in order to prevent the pandemic. One of the most critical impact of lockdown is increasing inflation. Covid-19 has affected the economy in many ways, but the most tangible outcome is the impact of inflation that has affected each and every person. Even into the pandemic, Inflation in India did not see it going below 6%. Inflation has been one of the most burning issue of economics. It is an increase in the prices of daily commodities over a period. This paper is an attempt to understand the impact of inflation on Indian economy during COVID-19. The paper looks at the methods that are used to measure the level of inflation, and the factors that are responsible for the current high level of inflation in India during COVID-19.

The Influence of Quarantine on Thai Highschool Students’ Productivity

Due to the current pandemic of COVID-19 which rendered many public and crowded places closed for safety measures and preventing further spreading of the mentioned disease. One of the places closed as a safety precaution is schools. And because of this, many high school students’ education is put on pause as they are encouraged to stay at home. Moreover, citizens other than students are obliged to stay at home and engage in minimal contact with the outside world. From this, we are introduced to the word quarantine which is an official term describing the act of imposing isolation on individuals or a group of individuals; consequently, most adults and parents fear that this will affect their children’s productivity especially that they are in high school and very close to transitioning to universities and adulthood. As thai highschoolers, we wanted to put this belief to the test by conducting this research which focuses mainly on assessing the effects of quarantine on thai high school students’ productivity in terms of self care, education,and contribution to others. Our goal is to disprove the assumption held by many that quarantine would lead to decrement of high school students’ productivity. Interestingly, our thesis was proven true and our thought processes and procedures will be further elaborated in this research paper.

Health Hazards and Protocol for Management of Used Facemasks Outside Hospitals during SARCOV-2 Pandemic

Background: SARS-CoV-2 is highly infectious pathogenic disease leading to infection and death of millions of people all over the world till the date according to the data provided by John Hopkins University. Peoples have started using various types of mask to protect themselves from getting infected from the deadly corona virus. There has also been large amount of confusion in general public about disposal of the mask as most of them are using for first time in their life. Even healthcare professionals may be unaware of the methods of disposal of the masks outside their hospitals. This mask may carry infections from asymptomatic, SARS-CoV-2 patients that if it comes in contact with other peoples and animals may have severe bio health hazards.

Observation & Management of facemasks: Since the SARS-COV-2 pandemic outbreak since March 2020, personally, we found out that peoples a carelessly throwing masks everywhere including streets, parking lots, beaches, building complexes, sewages and homes. These masks may have been used by asymptomatic carriers or have got infected with these viruses is hazardous not only to the health of the public but also for the household waste collectors, pet animals and marine animals. Disinfecting with sodium hypochlorite * decontaminating methods like washing facemasks and drying in sunlight, pressure cooker sterilisation method, boiling, by using laundry detergent and hot dryer and cleaning in washing machine, etc.

Conclusion & Relevance: The objective of these articles is to alert the public & health care professionals to understand the hazards of throwing the facemasks at public places and preventive measure to be taken during this pandemic time and various methods of decontamination, pre-treatment and disposal of facemask avoiding severe health hazards.

Improving India’s Pandemic Response through a Health Information System Reform

Despite stringent lockdown measures to curb the spread of the 2019 Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), India remains vulnerable to an uncontrolled rise in the number of cases and deaths. Furthermore, in spite of the high number of recorded cases, the actual case counts may be much higher due to poor data reporting of probable and confirmed cases of COVID-19 from all of India’s states. Being a populous country with the potential to become the world’s COVID-19 epicenter, it should be the Indian government’s top priority to strengthen India’s health information system (HIS) to support their infectious disease response.

To ensure that this paper is guided by current research on India’s HIS performance, a search strategy was developed on Ovid MEDLINE using database-specific subject headings and text words. The search terms used included: “health information systems” AND “India” AND “COVID-19” OR “Coronavirus.”

Most district level COVID-19 information management is still paper-based, and with India’s vast terrain, this approach is prone to data compilation errors. Furthermore, India’s fragmented HIS has led to ineffective collaboration between COVID-19 response agencies at the central, state, and district levels, thereby creating barriers pertaining to the compilation and coordination of COVID-19 data.

Investing in the use of technology is a viable approach to strengthen the country’s HIS performance during an infectious disease pandemic. To address the challenges associated with India’s fragmented HIS, the government is encouraged to implement a national regulatory body to monitor health information inputs and outputs.

Expanded Utilization of Personal Electronic Devices during the Pandemic and its Effect on Overall Health and Wellness of People in Bangalore

Over the last few years, smart phones have been replaced by landlines, cellular phones and other older versions of mobile phones. Smartphones and other personal electronic devices like laptop, tab, iPad etc. has made our lives easier by providing access to almost everything making our lives more comfortable and easier. In-spite of these several benefits associated with smartphones and personal electronic devices yet excessive usage results in affecting the mental and physical health of the people. The recent pandemic of covid-19 has bought our lives to a standstill and made us confine within our homes since the lockdown was being enforced in Bangalore and other states of India respectively. Thus, most of the activities including our occupation is being done through the means of smartphones and personal electronic devices which includes laptops, iPod, iPad etc. and the internet. This increased usage of has made a greater impact on the people in affecting their mental and physical health. This study aims to analyze how the people of the city Bangalore have been affected both mentally and physically due to the extended utilization of personal electronic devices during the pandemic and also provide ways to resolve this. A semi-structured questionnaire containing the basic details of the respondents, number of hours spent on personal electronic devices for work purpose and other purposes, number of physical and mental health effects suffered by each individual were being collected from the total number of fifty-four individuals out of which a sample of forty-seven people were being considered for this study.
