The Influence of Breakfast Habits on Students’ Learning Activities Class X SMAN 5 Palu

This study aims to determine how much influence the habit of breakfast has on the learning activities of class X students of SMAN 5 Palu and to determine the impact experienced by class X students of SMAN 5 Palu when they do not make a habit of breakfast before learning activities. This type of research is quantitative research. This research includes descriptive research. Sampling of the research conducted is by taking 25% of the total population (306 people) which is 76 people. Sampling is done by randomly selecting students who will be studied. The method used is descriptive correlational analysis with the formula P = F / N x 100%, then continued using the product moment formula. Data collection in this study is by using a questionnaire. The results of the study obtained data that there is a moderate or sufficient positive influence between breakfast on learning activities of class X students of SMAN 5 Palu with a product moment correlation index number of 0.431. While the level of influence obtained from breakfast with learning activities is 18.58%. The impact experienced by students when not doing breakfast is that it can cause a physiological decline in the body, which is characterized by a decrease in blood glucose levels which is the main source.

Design and Application of Augmented Reality in Science Education to Develop Students’ Critical Thinking Skills

The goal of this project is to create instructional materials based on augmented reality (AR) that will enhance students’ critical thinking abilities. There were 25 pupils enrolled in the public junior high school where the study was done. The ADDIE approach is being used in this development research study. The resulting product is AR-based media equipped with learning devices consisting of a Learning Implementation Plan, Student Worksheets, test instruments. Data collection was carried out using validation sheets, learning implementation sheets, student activity sheets, critical thinking tests and student response questionnaires. The percentage of each score attained was calculated in order to analyse the data. The findings indicated that the student worksheet’s validity scored 85.3 in the very valid category, the learning implementation plan’s validity scored 87.3 in the same area, and the learning outcome test’s average validity score was 90 very valid. With an average of 93.6%, learning implementation indicated very good outcomes; student activities in learning showed very good results with an average of 94.3%; and 88% of student responses fell into the very good category. The critical thinking test’s findings indicated that the critical thinking indicators of interpretation, analysis, and explanation had the biggest increases, and the conclusion indicator saw the lowest. The study’s conclusion is that teachers can use the augmented reality-based learning tool to teach the Life Organization System’s content since it is valid, practical, and effective.

Framework of Problem-Based Learning Activities with STEM Approach: Utilizing Plastic Waste with Ecobrick Method in Improving Students’ Ecological Literacy to Solve Environmental Problems

Plastic is a difficult chemical to degrade or decompose naturally, taking hundreds or even thousands of years for nature to break down plastic. However, the reality is that plastic is widely used in various human needs, from food packaging materials to automotive materials. One way to overcome plastic waste is through eco-brick or utilizing waste with plastic bottle media. Ecobrick is one creative effort to manage plastic waste into useful objects and reduce pollution and toxins caused by plastic waste. Teaching about eco-brick issues can be used as teaching material to improve students’ ecological literacy. Ecological literacy is a state in which individuals have good knowledge and attitudes about the environment and are capable of taking actions that positively impact the environment. However, the ecological literacy of students could be a lot higher. One of the reasons for this is that the teaching methods used so far have yet to bring out their ecological capabilities. Therefore, this study will apply problem-based learning (PBL) with a STEM approach. PBL is a learning approach involving a specific syntax combining STEM disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This approach can improve students’ ecological literacy in solving environmental problems.
