Solar Panel System with Internet of Thing Based Control on Dome Dryer for Coffee as A Support for Sustainable Agrotourism

The need for electrical energy in people’s lives is very important. The government is currently implementing policies, especially in the electricity sector, to develop potential alternative energy sources as an effort to diversify energy in the form of implementing regulations, namely by developing solar power plants (PLTS) as a type of renewable energy. Renewable energy from solar power plants (PLTS) will be used as energy that can replace electrical energy from PLN to power a control system that can be monitored via the internet of things (IOT) on dome dryers for drying coffee. Problem Formulation: The use of electricity from PLN is felt to be very expensive; Difficulty in controlling temperature and humidity in the Dome drying room and a lot of heat energy is wasted; The quality of traditional drying results is uneven and the production quality is not good. Research Objectives: Analyze the electric current of solar energy from renewable energy based on control system requirements; Analyzing environmental (external) factors in the Dome solar dryer; Designing an IoT-based control system; Knowing the temperature and humidity in the Dome solar dryer room; Determining the water content of coffee beans produced by the Dome dryer to support sustainable agrotourism. Uses or Benefits of Research: Application of Renewable Energy Technology, especially Solar Photo Voltaic (PV); Practical knowledge and technology for the community on the Solar Drayer Dome; Knowing the Solar Panel System from Renewable Energy with Remote Control (IoT) Control System to obtain the right temperature for drying coffee; Obtaining the correct water content value in coffee products from dome dryers to support sustainable agrotourism. Research Method: carried out in stages, namely observation and installation of supporting equipment for collecting data directly in the field (Experimental). Research results: Solar panels convert solar energy into electrical energy. Solar panels produce Direct Current (DC) electricity or direct current; Reducing carbon emissions: PLTS produces electricity without emitting greenhouse gases such as CO2, which contributes to global warming.

Cloud-Native Data Science for Edge Computing and IoT Applications

The use of edge computing and the Internet of Things are now considered essential subcategories of contemporary data systems. There is a new wave of data science application deployment approaches and management modularity, also referred to as cloud-native which caters for the required distribution to edge devices. The factors under consideration in this paper are emerging cloud-native technologies that include containerization, microservices, and the serverless model in data science workflows for edge computing and the Internet of Things. The above insights reveal the effectiveness of using this approach in supporting organizations for data science to create highly generalized, safe, and efficient data systems that meet the demands of edge working settings. Innovative city solutions, health care, and industrial Internet of Things are the important areas examined, and additional prospects and concerns are introduced.

Exploring the Frontiers: A Comprehensive Review of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in Manufacturing and Industry

Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are revo- lutionizing manufacturing practices by offering immersive and interactive experiences. This review paper synthesizes current research on AR and VR’s applications, benefits, and challenges in manufacturing, covering design, training, maintenance, and quality control. Key findings highlight the applications and positive impact of AR/VR on efficiency, cost management, and quality control in manufacturing processes. Industries are in- creasingly adopting these technologies to enhance productivity and reduce errors. However, challenges such as cost, techno- logical infrastructure, and integration into existing workflows remain significant barriers. In conclusion, integrating AR and VR in manufacturing holds immense potential to transform traditional methods and improve operational efficiency. This paper advocates for broader implementation and research to harness the full benefits of immersive technologies in manufacturing.

Proposed Ideal Business Model of an IoT Online Store (Case Study of Cosmic.id)

Cosmic.id is one of the businesses engaged in the IoT industry. It has been established since 2018 and is selling the products via e-commerce (Tokopedia). Cosmic.id has three products categories; in-house products (LoRa, and Development Board), resale products (Resistor, Connector, Capacitor, and etc) and custom products or services (Bridge Monitoring System, Temperature Sensor, and etc). Currently, Cosmic.id serves 2 segmented customers; B2C and B2B. Both segment give profit to the company, but since the internal resources are limited, then Cosmic.id has to decided which segment that the company should focus on, so the company could gain more revenue and have stable revenue for each month. The research objective of this thesis is to discover the ideal model business of Cosmic.id, B2B or B2C, therefore they could focus more to gain more revenue for the business. Also, another purpose is to discover whether the existing Unique Value Proposition is still relevant to the target model and what needs to be fixed. The research conducts in qualitative study, interviewing existing and prospective customers, both B2C and B2B customers. During the research, it was found that the B2B segment has a big opportunity for Cosmic.id’s revenue streams. It could give more revenue to the business, but some efforts have to be done to reach that market. In addition to that, some parts of the existing Unique Value Proposition are not relevant to the current condition. The end outcome of this study is the focus on B2B customers and the new Unique Value Proposition, which will be applied in this business and is given in the form of OKR and KPI in accordance with consumer needs. It is hoped that Cosmic.id and the team would do their best to provide the products that the market really needs and apply the new Unique Value Proposition both for B2B and B2C customers, so that the company will have stable revenue and could be sustained in the future. It is also hoped that Cosmic.id could contribute to the IoT development in Indonesia since there are not many LoRa manufacturers in Indonesia.
