Implementation of Pancasila Ideology in Indonesian Educational Leadership: A Literature Review

Pancasila plays an important role in responding to the times because the basic values ​​of Pancasila can be developed in the life of the Indonesian nation. Pancasila is the basis of the Republic of Indonesia which is used as a reference in the nation and state. Pancasila as the foundation of nationality and state administration can be used as a solution to solve complex problems in terms of economic, social, political, cultural, educational, defense and security dimensions. The actualization of Pancasila values ​​needs to be socialized, internalized and strengthened in its implementation, in the practice of national and state life by strengthening the character of the nation’s generation in participating in building public understanding of national awareness. The Indonesian state needs a leader who can carry out his vision based on the values ​​of Pancasila as a unifying tool for the nation. The values ​​contained in the Pancasila ideology can be used as the basis for Indonesian education leadership. The values ​​contained in Pancasila, whether God, Humanity, Unity, Consensus, and Justice, must be practiced and applied in the life of the nation, state and society in order to achieve the goals of education in Indonesia. Pancasila-characterized leadership will be able to guide the community towards the ideals of the state, and can be an intermediary in uniting the nation, and instilling the values ​​of Pancasila in the Indonesian people.

Explanation of Womens’ Ideological Linguistic Aesthetics in Poetry by Indonesian and Malaysia Women Poets

Linguistic aesthetics is seen from the linguistic side with a critical view. The text is built from several linguistic tools in which there are ideology and power. This study aims to find and describe (1) vocabulary, (2) the beauty of metaphor, (3) grammar in Indonesian and Malaysian poetry. The literary approach used is a comparative literature approach. This research data is in the form of a poetry text consisting of vocabulary, phrases, and lines with certain ideological values. Data collection activities were carried out using documentation techniques with knowledge and insight into the intrinsic and extrinsic elements of poetry, and critical discourse analysis of poetry, particularly concerning the ideological insights of women in Indonesian and Malaysian poetry, and interviews were conducted with the poets. Data analysis procedure using diagrams of the stages of understanding women’s ideology based on the elaboration of Ricoeur’s hermeneutics: explanation-analysis and interpretation. Triangulation was carried out to test theories, data, and research methods to avoid research bias. The findings of this study are the linguistic aesthetics of the poems by the Indonesian and Malaysian female poets in the form of (1) vocabulary, (2) the beauty of metaphor, and (3) grammatical. This study strengthens the theory of critical discourse analysis because the findings of this study indicate that linguistic aesthetics describes three stages: description, interpretation, and explanation. Practically, these findings are useful for language and literature researchers to enrich the application of critical poetry to poetry.

Purposes of Writing Signposts: The Case of the Signposts in Nusa Penida

The discussion of signpost belongs to the area of linguistic landscape. This area is frequently related to the other fields of study namely Sociolinguistics, Applied Linguistics or Historical Linguistics. One of its topics is studying the naming of objects in public space (Ben-Rafael, Shohamy, et al. 2006). According to Landry & Bourchis (1997) signpost will shape the language condition in a particular surrounding. This idea is applied in a place called Nusa Penida Island which is located in the Province of Bali. As a tourist destination, more than one languages are involved in the writing of the signpost there. The multiple languages used and the way they are put in order show the perception of the people towards those languages. Will Gorter’s (2012) idea saying that nowadays monolingual signposts are rarely found turn to be true? This research on name place has been done in Nusa Penida. The data was taken from various signposts related to tourist destination found there. The purpose of this article is to present (1) how the people in Nusa Penida, Bali create their signposts to support their increasing tourism, (2) the purposes behind the creation of the signpost. The result of the research presents that most of the signposts in Nusa Penida are presented in more than one language (script) which reflects their desire to serve tourism well or to show hospitality and at the same time to show their loyalty to their identity as Balinese people.
