Physicochemical and radioactive study of Colombontatalite ore from the Kisengo quarry in the DRC

This research concerns the assessment of radioactivity and the physicochemical characterization of columbotantalite ore extracted from the Kisengo quarry, located in the Tanganyika province of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The sample was taken from the Kisengo open-pit mine in Nyunzu territory located about 170 km from the town of Kalemie in Tanganyika province/DRC. It contained about 32% niobium, 21% tantalum, 6% iron, 7% manganese, 7% tin, 4% silicon and about 3% titanium and was analyzed by XRF. The results of the radioactivity tests revealed that the average dose rate, measured in nGy/h, was 329.72, or 0.038 mSv with the Identifinder device. This sample does not pose a risk of radioactive exposure, as the dose levels are very low, in accordance with the WHO range of 20 mSv and DRC Law 017/2002. Analysis of optical microscopy images of Kisengo coltan reveals the presence of a siliceous gangue (quartz) associated with pyroxenes as well as columbotantalite, which is the mineral of tantalum and niobium. Also present are cassiterite, a tin mineral (SnO2), and pyrolusite, a manganese mineral (MnO2). Granulochemical characterization revealed that tantalum and niobium are concentrated in the 500 micrometer fraction. The loss on ignition test indicated that niobium is the most abundant element in the analyzed sample, representing 31.97%, followed by tantalum at 20.75%. Finally, silicon and titanium are present and removed at 4.18% and 17.716%, respectively.

Culture of Human Behavior in Architecture

The basic process that involves human interaction with their environment is environmental information obtained by the process of perception. Perception is formed because of the interaction of a person (individual) with their life space, which is finally realised in behavioral attitudes. Thus, the behavior, response, and action are determined by personal perception. It can be argued that human psychiatry determines human behavior in the form of condition, attitude, perception, cognition, and motivation. Cognition is obtained from the culture, experience, and education that an individual owns. The aspect of cognition is an aspect of change movement because the information received determines the feeling and the willingness to do. In terms of cognition, it consists of several components, namely cognitive components that will answer the question of what people think about objects. The components of affection conation will answer what is felt (happy / not happy) to the object, and it will answer the question of the willingness to act toward the object. Each component does not stand alone, but one unity is called the cognition system. The cognition system is the result of a cognitive process. It comprises perception activities, imagination, thinking, reasoning, and decision-making.

Identifying Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Implementation towards Growth and Sustainability: A Case Study at Assisted Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) by Bank Indonesia

As one of the financial institutions in Indonesia which also has important role in determining the direction of Indonesia Economy, Bank Indonesia currently already assist 1.143 MSMEs within several sectors. Previously known that approximately 59,1% of total assisted MSMEs are dominantly still not adapting the environmentally friendly practice into their business. With the requirement of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) implementation within every organization as well as enterprises become necessary since already stated in the provision POJK No. 51/POJK.03/2017. Whereas Environmental is one of the elements on ESG itself. Through the ESG implementation particularly for enterprises, it offers added-value for the business itself. Not only added-value, ESG implementation could also lead to the growth and sustainability which also become important for the enterprises. The research aims to provide portrait/mapping the condition of assisted MSMEs based on ESG elements. Through the literature review, author enrich the rubrication measurement tool of assisted MSMEs with the ESG standard that already used internationally i.e. Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB). all of the ESG elements have significant impact on Growth and Sustainability. The result also shown that there is one sub-indicator which comes from Social element regarding pension insurance which has high influence to the assisted MSMEs business but most of the respondent haven’t concerned about it yet. There are other items with high influence to the business but still need to be improved which are leave for employee, health facilities guarantees, diversity and stakeholder support. Other than that, since the dominant of respondent are coming from Processing Industry, the subindicator regarding guarantee for consumer health and safety need to be considered. The result of this research could be the recommendations both for Bank Indonesia and assisted MSMEs which requires special concern for ESG elements if the enterprises want to achieve growing and sustainable business ahead.
