Factors That Influencing Employee’s Wellbeing during Pandemic

The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between diversity, psychosocial, and employee wellbeing as an impact of implementing flexible working arrangements during the COVID-19 period in 2022. The results revealed that diversity and psychosociality were significantly and positively related to employee wellbeing. It also revealed that age and gender were significantly and positively related to flexible working arrangements and that flexible working arrangements were significantly and positively related to psychosocial. Theoretically, this paper has contributed to the literature on flexible working arrangements, psychosocial, diversity, and well-being. Practically, the practitioners of digital companies should consider implementing flexible working arrangements to cater to the needs of their employees by providing flexible work time, remote working, or different working hours. In conclusion, this paper has revealed the importance of flexible working arrangements and diversity in employee well-being.

Interaction of Some Environmental Gradients with Bloom Forming Coscinodiscus Species (Kützing, 1844) in the Upper reaches of Bonny Estuary Rivers State, Niger Delta

This study was carried out from December 2021 to November 2022 to examine the interaction of environmental factors with bloom-forming Coscinodiscus species. Plankton samples were collected with a 20 µm mesh plankton net. The nutrients were analysed in the laboratory using the APHA 2012 Method, while physico-chemical characteristics were determined in situ. Three species were recovered C. concinnus, granni, and radiatus C. Concinnus recorded the highest mean density values in stations 1 and 2. C. granni recorded the lowest density values in stations 2 and 3, while C radiatus recorded the highest density value in station 2 and the lowest in station 1. The three species decreased across seasons (from dry to wet). Interaction between principal component analysis, environmental parameters, and Coscinodiscus spp. across stations indicates that temperature. and nitrate showed a strong positive correlation with C. granni species, while C. concinus showed a strong positive correlation with salinity. Conductivity, pH, and nitrate. Phosphate and nitrite showed a strong positive correlation with C. radiatus. These environmental parameters (temp.NO3, salinity, pH, TDS, and DO) greatly influence the distribution and abundance of the Coscinodiscus spp. and were the most used predictors in the forecast of Coscinodiscus spp., which were positively correlated. The regression coefficient, R2 = 0.878, in the model for Coscinodiscus concinus species accounted for 87% of the significant predictors and therefore confirmed the predictive power of this ARIMA model for predicting bloom forming C. concinus species, while the remaining species could not be accounted for. Human activities are having an increasing influence on the marine environment, especially the eutrophication of water. With an increase in the environmental gradients, there is a possibility of the species forming a bloom. There is the need for best management practices to address nutrient discharge in the Bonny Estuary.

Biodiversity of Freshwater Algae from Temple Tank

The study aims to find the diversity of freshwater algae present in the temple tank of Adikesava Perumal temple, Korattur, Chennai. The samples were collected in plastic bottles from various sites in the temple tank. The samples were checked for their pH and temperature. The samples were brought to the laboratory and maintained in an open tank under direct sunlight for 4 weeks. The observation and documentation of the algae were done using the LABOMED VISION 2000 Binocular microscopic unit. Many different varieties of algal species were found from the samples collected. From this, we can conclude that temple tanks act as the best source of a sustainable environment for the growth of algae with diversity and can also be used to monitor the pollution level.

Harmonization in Multicultural Community Life

This study aims to define the interaction and tolerance of Hindus and Muslims in the life of a multicultural society. A socio-cultural approach related to local wisdom is used in this study. The application of qualitative methods with observation and in-depth interviews was used as a means of collecting data and information. Theories about multiculturalism were used to analyze the data. Azra (2007) states that multiculturalism is an understanding of life that puts forward togetherness on the principle of difference, whether religious, political, or ethnic differences. This study found that community life in Serangan Village, South Denpasar District, which consists of six banjars (village community organization) namely Banjar Ponjok, Banjar Tengah, Banjar Kaja, Banjar Peken, Banjar Kawan, and Banjar Dukuh, and an environment called Kampung Bugis Environment goes hand in hand in harmonious situation and condition. This research is expected to strengthen the understanding of multiculturalism for Indonesians who comes from hundreds of ethnicities with multi-variety languages, cultures, customs, traditions, and beliefs. The results of the research are also expected to have contributed to increasing the sense and value of nationalism towards the nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
