Optimizing Company Profile as a Public Communication Tool in Educational Institutions

This study aims to analyze the public communication strategy implemented by Bimbel CEC, a non-formal educational institution, through the use of its company profile. The company profile functions not merely as an informational medium but as a strategic communication tool to build institutional image, convey vision and mission, and reach wider audiences, including prospective franchise partners. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with two key informants: the Chief Executive Officer and the Co-Founder. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo software with thematic coding to identify key themes. The findings reveal that Bimbel CEC employs a multi-channel communication strategy, utilizing digital, print, electronic, and face-to-face media in an integrated manner. Message formulation emphasizes structured content, audience-based customization, visual storytelling, and soft selling approaches. Strategic adjustments are made regularly in response to technological advancements, curriculum changes, and social media trends. This study concludes that the company profile is not only a promotional asset but also a dynamic communication medium that embodies the institution’s values and positioning aligned with Kotler’s concepts of integrated marketing communication and strategic branding.

The Using Animation Tutors based on Phase One Picture Exchange Communication System to Improve Vocabulary Skills with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This study evaluates the web-based Animated Tutor PECS (AT-PECS) using the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) method as a means to increase the ability to initiate communication independently in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The objects of this study were children under 5 years of age who had ASD with limited communication skills before being treated using the AT-PECS application. Methods:This study designed an alternating treatment to examine the use of AT-PECS as the primary technique for improving students’ abilities with PECS and increasing students’ independent communication initiatives. Results: The results obtained from this study indicate that students can accept the use of the PECS method for learning and show an increase in communication initiative skills independently, but the speed in improving vocabulary looks faster when using the AT-PECS application. Conclussion: The study indicate that using the PECS intervention method with the help of ATA can improve the communication skills of ASD children and improve verbal abilities to a certain extent.​

Analysis of Student Soft Skill Profiles: A Case Study at Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta

This study aims to analyze the soft skill profiles of Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta students based on ten dimensions: communication, teamwork, leadership, problem solving and critical thinking, time management and organization, adaptability and flexibility, ethics and responsibility, creativity and innovation, emotional intelligence, and digital skills and information literacy. A total of 160 respondents completed a 1–4 Likert scale questionnaire. Descriptive analysis results show that all dimensions are in the medium category with an overall average of 3.189. The dimensions with the highest scores were ethics and responsibility (3.376) and digital skills and information literacy (3.260), followed by teamwork, adaptability, and time management. Conversely, the dimensions with the lowest relative averages were creativity and innovation (3.000) and communication (3.095), although they remained in the medium category. These findings conclude that students have an adequate foundation of soft skills but have not yet reached an excellent level, especially in the aspects of communication, creativity, and critical thinking. These results imply the need for a more integrated soft skills development strategy in the curriculum, student activities, and cooperation with industry to encourage improvement from a moderate to a high level.

Communication on Website and Some Notes When Using

With the development of mobile devices, the reception habits of the media public have changed. Media companies, individuals, businesses, etc. always promote communication activities on digital platforms, especially social networking platforms. However, an indispensable basic platform in the development of multimedia communication in the digital age is website communication. Although this communication method was first born since the appearance of the internet, today it is still considered a long-term communication path. Therefore, to communicate effectively on the website, communicators are required to grasp the advantages, limitations and notes when implementing communication using this method.

Code Switching and Code Mixing in Modern Public Communication (Indonesian Sociolinguistic Analysis)

This study seeks to examine how language is used in the social interactions of contemporary Indonesian society. The language use in question is an example of how modern culture in Indonesia interacts through code switching and code mixing. Using a qualitative descriptive research design, this type of research was conducted. The information referred to in this study is communication between contemporary Indonesians that demonstrates code switching and code mixing in modern culture. The speech in question takes the shape of a dialogue and includes words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that operate both as code switches and code mixers as well as having parts of both. Sources of data in this study came from the internet, namely previous research data, outstanding issues, and social media. Data analysis techniques were carried out with all utterances that show the occurrence of code- switching and code-mixing in the interactions of modern society in Indonesia. Furthermore, the classification and categories of the entire data are carried out. The data were analyzed by selecting and sorting out the forms and functions of code switching and code mixing in the interactions of modern society in Indonesia. After being analyzed and classified, the data is described and translated to find out the nature and applications of code switching and interference in contemporary Indonesian social interactions.

Semiotic Functions of Indexicality

By exploring how indexical signals interact with other semiotic components, as well as how social context affects their interpretation, this study fills a research gap and examines the complex function that these signs play in influencing meaning-making within communication. The present study employed theme analysis to look at public speeches, social media posts, and ads that promoted environmental awareness and community involvement.  Themes about social action and environmental responsibility evolved, along with the identification of indexical signals.  A comparative examination showed that although basic themes were shared across societies, how particular indications were interpreted differed according to social and cultural situations.  Indexical signals interact with other semiotic components to create meaning, as demonstrated by semiotic analysis. This study underscores the significance of indexicality in communicating complex concepts and the necessity of employing culturally sensitive communication techniques.  These results might be useful in developing messages that effectively encourage global community involvement and environmental awareness.

Pragmatic Analysis of Deception and Miscommunication in Saki’s’ The Open Window

This research looks at how Saki, also known as H.H. Munro, uses Grice’s maxims to accomplish practical consequences in his short story “The Open Window.” The research investigates how meaning is created through speech and how violations of these principles lead to misconceptions using a pragmatic approach. The research examines how the story’s characters interact in accordance with or without respect to Grice’s four maxims—quality, quantity, manner, and relation —using a qualitative descriptive technique. The study’s questions explore Vera’s application of these aphorisms, the irony and misinterpretation resulting from Framton Nuttel’s presumptions regarding them, Munro’s potential social critique of Victorian communication conventions, and the narrative’s thematic implications of deception, manipulation, and social anxiety.  Thirty of Grice’s maxims are found in the story, which Vera disobeys to produce hilarious consequences. The conversation sheds light on how these broken rules lead to misunderstandings and manipulation while also providing an understanding of the story’s social setting and the intentions of the protagonists. This pragmatic approach highlights the significance of effective and transparent communication in interpersonal relationships while enhancing our comprehension of the story’s dynamics, comedy, and thematic depth.

Exploring Pragmatics: Uncovering the Layers of Language and Meaning

The dynamic interaction of pragmatics, semantics, and culture in language understanding and communication is examined in this narrative review. The review emphasizes how pragmatics and semantics provide complementary viewpoints on language meaning, drawing on current findings in linguistics and communication studies. Semantics concentrates on the exact meanings of words, but pragmatics takes speaker intent and context into account. Comprehending both improves meaning interpretation and communication. The research also highlights how culture influences, how language is used and understood, especially when it comes to nonverbal cues like humor and manners. Language is used to communicate and understand emotions, and this is influenced by cultural quirks. The results highlight how crucial it is to take cultural background, emotional expression, and context into account when developing language instruction and communication approaches. The study ends with recommendations for future research, such as cross-cultural comparison studies, language change monitoring longitudinal studies, and examinations of how language usage is affected by digital platforms. This review advances pragmatics knowledge, which leads to more successful communication techniques in a variety of settings.

Understanding Interpersonal Relationship Drivers to Increase Employee Engagement: Study Case of PT. Sukses Multi Amarta

This research examined the significant factors that influence interpersonal relationship of PT. Sukses Multi Amarta active and former employees. It is found that interpersonal relationship plays very important role for the employee engagement and turnover within organization. The interpersonal relationship variables are measured by applying some researches that have been conducted by previous research which concluded into three main antecedents, Social Satisfaction, Communication, and Self-Esteem. This research used qualitative interview approach as primary data to predict the root cause of the employee turnover in which concludes the interpersonal relationship as the main cause. Quantitative approach is also used in this research for secondary data by collecting literatures and distributing questionnaires. The findings of this study showed that all of the independent variables, social satisfaction, communication and self-esteem has a positive and significant effect on interpersonal relationships among workers. Communication became the key variable in influencing the level of interpersonal relationship. The recommendation programs to increase the level of communication are also provided to develop better interpersonal relationship and its least valued attributes.

Task-Based Language Teaching based on Audiolingual Method to Promote Students’ Speaking Achievement

This present study was an attempt to examine whether a task-based language teaching based on audiolingual method improves students’ speaking achievement and to examine which aspect of speaking improves the students’ speaking achievement most. This research was conducted to 34 computer and network engineering students of the eleventh grade of SMK Ma’arif Sindang Ayu by using purposive sampling. The data were analysed quantitatively. The result presented the value of sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < α=0.05. as well as t-value= 14.606 > t-table=2.042. It means that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It was implied that the implementation of task-based language teaching based on audiolingual method significantly improved students’ speaking achievement. Besides, the aspect of speaking which improved the most was fluency in which had the highest gain score among other aspects of speaking.
