Charting the Evolution of Sin Tax Research: A Comprehensive Bibliometric Review

Sin taxes—selektif excise levies on goods like alcohol, tobacco and sugar‑sweetened beverages—are used to internalize negative externalities and self‑control problems. This bibliometric review analyzes 55 Scopus‑indexed publications from 1997–2024 identified through a systematic search for “sin tax” and “sin taxes” up to 26 December 2025 and filtered for scholarly, English‑language economics and finance works. Publication output grew from sporadic early contributions to a surge starting in 2013 and peaking at eleven papers in 2022. Authorship is dispersed (138 unique authors, only four with multiple papers), and output is geographically concentrated, with the United States producing nearly half of publications and Finland, Italy and the United Kingdom contributing smaller shares. Keyword clustering highlights themes around optimal tax design, consumption behaviour, obesity, pass‑through and paternalism, reflecting intersections between public finance, behavioural economics and health policy. The field is expanding but remains geographically skewed, signalling the need for more research in developing countries, greater interdisciplinary collaboration and deeper exploration of new sin goods and long‑term health and fiscal effects.

What do we know about Tax Amnesty? Insights from bibliometric analysis

This paper provides a bibliometric analysis of the existing literature on tax amnesty, focusing on its effectiveness in enhancing tax compliance, generating government revenue, and reducing tax evasion. By analyzing 108 relevant articles extracted from Scopus, the study maps the evolution of tax amnesty research and identifies key themes and trends in the field. The analysis reveals a significant increase in the number of publications since 2015, reflecting growing academic interest in this policy tool. The findings suggest that while tax amnesty programs can generate short-term revenue and improve voluntary compliance, their long-term impact on reducing tax evasion remains debated. The research also highlights the central role of countries like Indonesia, where tax amnesty programs have been extensively implemented, and identifies prominent authors contributing to this body of knowledge. Through keyword analysis, the study emphasizes the importance of concepts such as tax compliance, tax evasion, and tax system reforms, which are closely linked to the success of tax amnesty programs. The paper concludes by suggesting directions for future research, particularly in understanding the sustainability and ethical dimensions of tax amnesty.

Global Trends in Lateral Thinking: Bibliometric Study of Growth, Collaboration, and Applications

Lateral thinking is a non-linear thinking approach that is increasingly recognized as a vital strategy for fostering creativity and problem-solving across various disciplines. This study aims to analyze global trends, author contributions, scientific collaborations, and thematic evolution within the lateral thinking literature during the period 2014–2024. The methodology employed is a bibliometric analysis based on data from Scopus, utilizing a quantitative approach and network visualization through VOSviewer to map keywords, thematic clusters, and interconceptual relationships. The findings reveal a significant increase in publications since 2018, with notable contributions from countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, and Indonesia. Dominant keywords such as creativity, problem solving, and innovation form clusters that highlight the central role of lateral thinking in the development of innovative solutions in education, technology, health, and management. The study also uncovers strong associations between lateral thinking and AI-based as well as neurobiological approaches, expanding its applicability to advanced technologies and human cognitive understanding. These findings underscore the importance of lateral thinking as a strategic framework for addressing complex global challenges and open up opportunities for future multidisciplinary research.

Examining The Global Trends of Environmental Literacy: A Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis

This study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis to assess the trajectory of research on environmental literacy. By examining 661 articles from the Scopus database spanning from 1990 to 2025, the study reveals key developments and emerging trends in the field. Utilizing VOSviewer software for data visualization, the analysis identifies significant patterns in publications, collaboration networks, and influential contributors to the field. The findings highlight the predominant contribution of the United States, with major academic institutions such as the University of California and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health at the forefront. The study reveals a notable increase in publications after 2010, particularly from 2020 onwards, reflecting the growing global recognition of environmental literacy. This research underscores the importance of addressing environmental challenges, including climate change and biodiversity loss, through effective education and policy integration. Despite the dominance of research from Western countries, the study calls for greater representation from regions such as Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The study’s contributions are threefold: it advances the theoretical understanding of environmental literacy, introduces an integrative research methodology, and provides practical insights for educators, policymakers, and environmental organizations. These findings lay the foundation for future research and the development of strategies to foster environmental literacy and promote sustainability globally.

Bibliometric Analysis of Research on the Implementation of Stunting Prevention Programs in Indonesia through ProQuest

This study conducted a bibliometric analysis and visualization using VOSviewer to examine the implementation of stunting prevention programs in Indonesia. Over the past five years, there has been a significant increase in publications related to this topic, totaling 447 documents. The analysis revealed fluctuating publication trends annually, reflecting evolving research interests and methodologies. Visual network mapping identified four main clusters: (1) policy focus on stunting prevention, program effectiveness, and risks; (2) database review, coverage assessment, and risk factors; (3) infant health, risk factors, and assessments; and (4) sanitation, meta-analysis, and policy implications. These clusters highlight diverse research focuses, including policy management, data analysis, risk factors, and sanitation impacts on stunting prevalence. Integration of various datasets through overlay visualization provided insights into complex interactions influencing stunting prevalence across Indonesian districts. This research offers deep insights into the dynamics of stunting prevention program research and development in Indonesia, serving as a foundation for evidence-based policymaking and guiding future research strategies. Based on the findings and discussions, this study suggests the need for further research focusing on the district-level effectiveness of interventions against child stunting by enhancing community engagement in intervention and policy implementation. Community engagement can significantly reduce stunting prevalence by enabling better adoption of local nutrition and sanitation practices, strengthening program sustainability through active participation in planning and implementation, and building community capacity to promote sustainable behavior change at the individual and family levels.

Bibliometric Analysis: Research Trends in Creative Thinking Behavior in Learning

The ability to think outside the box, create something that has never existed before, and apply knowledge and skills creatively and inventively. Effective learning activities require a balance between several aspects, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Creative thinking behavior is a manifestation of creativity, and creativity refers to the ability to generate new, unique ideas. Related to the importance of behavior on creative thinking, it is necessary to analyze the extent of the development of research on creative thinking behavior. Bibliometric analysis using Publish of Perish (PoP) and VOSviewer for the last 10 years (2014-2023) keyword “creative thinking behavior. The analysis took from the google scholar and scopus databases. Bibliometric analysis is a technique that is realized in 2 categories, namely performance analysis and science mapping. The results of the analysis are stored in a small database used in this study. Since this research only uses Google Scholar and Scopus databases, the research methodology of thinking behavior is also limited. The research results can be expanded by using alternative databases and keyword searches. This study may be useful for future researchers who want to investigate creative thinking behavior.
