Impact of Capital Structure on Firm Performance of Food and Beverage Listed Companies on the Stock Exchange of Vietnam

This study tested the relationship between capital structure and firm performance. Data were collected from 41 food and beverage companies listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange from 2017 to 2021. Three variables were used to measure the performance of each company, including ROA, ROE and EPS. The ratio of total debt to total assets (DA), total debt to total equity (DE), short-term debt to total assets (SDTA) and long-term debt to total assets (LDTA) are the key factors. for capital structure. Besides, growth rate (GROWTH) and company size (SIZE) are also applied in the model as control variables. As a result, most of the capital structure variables have a negative effect on each of the firm’s performance variables. It is noteworthy that this study also illustrates the negative correlation between ROE and capital structure shown, which was thought to be insignificant in many previous studies but also shows a negligible relationship between SDTA and SDTA. Moreover, ROE was rarely seen in previous studies. Furthermore, the research results also show a negligible impact on growth rate and a positive relationship between size and firm performance.

Martheen House intends to devise a plan to raise the selling price of its assets. Alternative projects that boost the resale value of these assets will be analyzed and profitable project ideas will be selected. utilizing SWOT to determine the internal components of an organization PESTLE to study competitors to explain external elements from the company that must be open, Porter’s Five Force to enable the company to overcome the underlying opportunities and dangers in the company’s external environment. After performing a Feasibility Study to establish the alternatives and the US Index to determine the chosen resource, the corporation must maximize capital in the form of Equity, Debt, or both to determine which resource to select. The final step is to determine the internal financial position using Financial Ratio Analysis. The investigation reveals that the chosen alternative project is the crushed stone processing project for Rp. 2.035 billion, the Warehouse Project + small office for Rp. 8.787 billion, and the Transit Hotel Project for Rp. Using loans to finance the implementation of this alternate project is doable. Strategic Investment Analysis for the Gas Station Projects Using Build Operate and Transfer (Case Study: PT Pertamina, Besakih Bali)

One of deployment planning from Pertamina is Besakih area in Bali. In this simple requirement, Pertamina need a further study to plan which type of gas stations will be implemented, COCO (Company Own Compant Operate) or DODO (Dealer Own Dealer Operate). COCO was found to be the viable option because DODO facing a major challenge based on the PESTLE and SWOT which is an issue related to government attitude towards greener technology such as electric vehicle.  A several options for funding have been identified and well documented with several restrictions which are equity, loan, venture capital, and build operate transfer. If Pertamina need a new gas stations in terms of only 20% coming from capital (80% loan). Pertamina is not entitled to fund by venture capital as Pertamina is a state own company with rigid regulation. For the deployment of new gas station, the most expensive part is the land, therefore searching the solution through land funding is the most viable option. It was found that the strategy build, operate, and transfer (BOT) is a very interesting option. For the Pertamina, it erases the necessity for buying the land, on the other hand, for the land owner, it is better that their land could be useful for them in the next 15 years before they are getting all the facility transferred. The payback period is only 3,36 years with the IRR of 27,03% which is higher than the WACC. In case of Pertamina taking 80% loan and 20% equity, the NPV will return in the 5th year in start of the investment or 4th year in start of the operation. This strategy opens up new opportunities and solution for the business because it writes out land CAPEX necessity.

Effects of Moderate Intensity Circuit Exercise Programme on the Blood Oxygen Saturation and Pulmonary Function of People Living With HIV

Introduction: Impaired pulmonary function and arterial oxygen (O2) saturation are among the symptomatic changes in people living with HIV (PLWH), associated with progression of HIV disease and anti-retroviral therapy (ART). Exercise has been considered an important adjuvant therapy for health promotion and improving the pulmonary function of PLWH. However studies are lacking on the effects circuit exercise training on o2 saturation and pulmonary function of PLWH.

Objective: This study determined the effect of moderate intensity circuit exercise programme on the O2 saturation and pulmonary function of PLWH.

Methods: The study design was a pretest-posttest randomized controlled design. A total of 120 participants were recruited from the HIV clinic of a teaching hospital. Fish bowl method was used to randomize the participants to control group or exercise group. Moderate intensity (50 – 75% MHR) circuit exercise programme was administered to the participants 3 times a week between 30-60 minutes per session for 8 weeks. Pulse Oximeter and hand held spirometer were used to measure the oxygen saturation and some pulmonary functions respectively. Measurement were taken at baseline and at 8-week. Descriptive statistics of mean, standard deviation and percentages were used to summarize demographic data. Paired sample t-test and Independent sample t-test determined the mean difference within the groups and between the groups respectively. Alpha level was set at P<0.05.

Results: There was significant difference in the mean score of O2 saturation and pulmonary function within the exercise group after 8-week exercise intervention. There was significant difference in the mean score of O2 saturation and pulmonary function between the control group and exercise group after 8-week exercise intervention.

Conclusion: An 8-week circuit exercise programme brought about improvement in O2 saturation and pulmonary function of PLWH. Circuit exercise can be effectively employed to improve lung function and ameliorate the exercise hypoxemia associated with decreased O2 saturation in PLWH.

Investigating Structural, Thermal and Optical Properties of Lead Oxide Nano-Particles Synthesized by Sol-Gel Combustion Method

Metal and metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs) have piqued the interest of material scientists in recent years due to their unique physicochemical properties which are dependent on their size, shape, and chemical surroundings. The sol gel combustion is one of the most straightforward and practical technique for getting tiny and similar size and shape of the powder out of all the current lead oxide nanoparticle synthesis techniques. In this study, PbO nanoparticles are prepared using the sol-gel method followed by an auto combustion process. This research is aimed at the particle size, shape, thermal analysis, and optical properties of nanostructured PbO. Several microscopic, spectroscopic, and thermogravimetric analysis are employed for the structural characterization of lead oxide nanoparticles. Tiny lead oxide particles with a diameter of 60 nanometres have been prepared. The prepares sample’s optical band gap was discovered to be 2.44 electronvolt. Thermal investigations indicate the thermal behaviour and stability of synthesized lead oxide powder and are described in details.

Urban Farming in Food Security Efforts at Household Level in Indonesia: Systematic Review

Acute nutritional problems occur due to nutritional problems caused by events in a short time. For example, disease outbreaks and lack of food (hunger) that causes emaciation. This is also what underlies the occurrence of acute nutritional problems during the Covid 19 pandemic. Food access is directly affected by urban communities, especially the urban poor. One form of the system of family food security is to increase the availability of food at the household level, especially in urban areas, namely the urban farming system. The author uses two methods to search for articles about urban farming, namely PubmEd, Science Direct and Google Schoolar. Search using keywords Urban farming, food security and Indonesia. Based on the initial search, 43 research articles were found and then identification was carried out so that they became 12 articles. The results of the search found that urban farming can increase family food security, the types of plants grown are vegetables and fruits, and the problems encountered are communication problems, level of knowledge and skills related to urban farming.
